Trump fiasco - a dangerous one!

Who could ever imagine a World leading nation electing a person like Trump as a leader!

Trump has proved to be brash, crude, head-strong, uncouth, self-opinionated .... the list is endless and all this in a World environment that is so hopelessly astray in so many directions. A trashed Planet prejudicing the future for our young, a monetary system captured by an "elite group" with a rapacious appetite for excess, where the value of life and many people is considered worthless .... again the list is endless!

All this as Trump looks to increase our nuclear arsenal which is big enough already to turn the World into radio-active ash several times over, where the ocean life is being forsaken as the only "meal" on offer is a stomach full of plastic waste, where the rivers have become the conduit to allow an endless and increasing supply of  further waste and so on. Society stands "on the brink" after endless wars and, potentially even worse, at the point  where a  Third World War is becoming a distinct possibility!

We can, we must, do better. Too late when the missiles "start flying";  all that it takes is one mistake, a rash action, or whatever. We could "all be toast" in short order - the living may then envy the dead.

Time for World  society to "wake-up" - we really do have the future of the World in our hands!

Australian PM Tony Abbott Travels The World To Drum Up Anti-Climate Action Coalition | ThinkProgress

Australian PM Tony Abbott Travels The World To Drum Up Anti-Climate Action Coalition | ThinkProgress

Here is a Prime Minister who hasn't a clue!

Australia has been suffering some of the worst climate excesses in years as their PM stomps the World being a climate change denier - worse he is actually systematically dismantling or financially hobbling the energy saving projects and advocating the withdrawal of certain old growth forest protection.

Ozzies you picked a total incompetent as a leader!

Ecuador's tribes declare 'national mobilization' against oil and mining - News - The Ecologist

Ecuador's tribes declare 'national mobilization' against oil and mining - News - The Ecologist

Corrupt Governments and vested interests are ravaging many important ecosystems around the World and they are threatening our very existence - no question.

The great rainforests of South America cannot afford to be threatened for any number of reasons not the least of which they provide habitat and sustenance for a number of dependent Indian tribes.

As Chevron proved the interests of these people come way down in this company's list of concerns - their top priority is all about money and profit! As a result they have left a number of formerly pristine forested areas as a stinking, oil-soaked mess with huge and ongoing problems. These problems are compounding every year as the oil spills permeate through the whole environmental chain affecting land, water, wildlife and a whole myriad of things.

For many years this bloated corporate has fought any notion that they should fund restorative efforts. Chevron has used its huge financial resources to frustrate the impoverished tribes and used every device to try to absolve itself from any responsibility.

The World community must act to address this situation!

Note to Olympic Sailors: Don’t Fall in Rio’s Water - NYTimes.com

Note to Olympic Sailors: Don’t Fall in Rio’s Water - NYTimes.com

What a disgusting reflection on a wayward society - we are leaving a toxic legacy which will simply accumulate to disastrous proportions.

Mankind has to really address this situation before we literally all drown in our poisoned environment!

Most see the oceans as the ultimate dumping ground and wayward administrations perpetuate the remiss thinking.

Collectively we have to own this problem and lead a revival before it becomes an impossible task!

Why we couldn't care less about the natural world | George Monbiot | Environment | theguardian.com

Why we couldn't care less about the natural world | George Monbiot | Environment | theguardian.com

This very revealing post tells it all - the majority of people will only become interested when the fire or flood is "licking" round their backsides - fact! Just how bad does it have to get, how much tripe will people swallow from inept leaders, vested interests or whoever before the general population recognises we are sliding at an ever-increasing rate into a desperate situation?

They call mankind the higher species but is very much in doubt with a large chunk of the population!

Is it any wonder that more and more want to drift into an alcohol or drug-filled haze to escape reality?

Is it any wonder many wish to confront each other instead of working co-operatively? Like the law of the jungle many would sooner "steal a crust than work to get one"!

Hopefully enough good people "out there" however are slowly waking up - however the embattled few who are currently acting simply lack the firepower of numbers to create a climate conducive to effectively change the rapidly deteriorating situation. We don't have the luxury of time in addressing the comprehensive difficulties we are collectively facing!

The politicians, vested interests and their ilk will continue to procrastinate and build more wealth and power - both of which will be about as helpful as putting their faith in a leaky lifeboat when the World's natural systems wreak their vengeance!

As "100 year floods", glacial and polar retreat, joining with a raft of other more regular adverse environmental conditions  become the norm it speaks volumes to see the hopeless attitude of the majority of mankind. They often round on their Governments to"do something" to help but the time to have acted effectively may well have "long gone"!

We have to do better if there is to be any long-term future and it is up to YOU and I to start a determined  action plan - now. At our fingertips we have the best of tools to make change. We just cannot afford to fail in our quest for commonsense to prevail.

It's time, to be very blunt and to the point, to start kicking  the backsides of all and sundry - make it happen while we still have a degree of hope in addressing the issues which are about to, progressively, totally overwhelm us all. Fact - the clock to rectify matters is ticking!

Loss of wildlife and deforestation can increase human disease

Loss of wildlife and deforestation can increase human disease

Mankind always tends to ignore the wider considerations - he tends to treat nature as his servant when rather at times we are taught that nature's power makes mankind tend to look puny and selfish.

We have to learn to work WITH nature and then it will nourish and fulfill our expectations as long as they are kept realistic and considered in a sustainable fashion.
